Thank you for visiting my page. My name is David Roberson. I am a successful student, business owner and entreprenuer. I am here to help experienced marketers as well as those new to marketing, earn income while utilizing the Internet. I'm showing experienced marketers how to add to the amount of income and leads they are generating for thier current business and opening the door to opportunity for those who don't have a business yet. What is a Soldier of Fortune?
It is more important for you to know who I am, rather than what I am able to offer you. Everything is not for everyone and that includes working with certain people. Please take a moment to read about who I am and what I believe in. Once you have taken a moment to get to know me then I can feel comfortable working with you. I will know that we are of similar mindset and commitment to achieving our goals.
I will do all that is within my power to help and assist you but I can't do it alone. You are the main factor in this equation. I can show you how to elevate yourself and your business and even how to get started if you don't have one yet but it is up to you to take action.
Let me take a few minutes to give you my definition of "Soldier of Fortune" , why I consider myself to be one and why I believe anyone can be one. First take a look at the definitions below and the following explanations. You can take a look at some fellow marketers on the left under Fellow Soldiers!
Soldier: a person who defends or serves in a cause
A soldier is anyone who defends or serves a specific cause. We may not all be military soldiers, wear uniforms or carry rifles, but we are all armed and we can be soldiers right where we stand and for the causes we serve. We are armed with our minds and ability and it is our responsibility to use these for the causes we pursue in our homes, at school, in the office, giving care or wherever we serve. I have been a soldier and I have served my country but when it comes to my family, whether I am wearing a uniform or not I give everything I have within me to protect and serve them. I am a soldier for my house. This also includes my business which provides, my education which empowers and my spiritual beliefs which are the foundation for elevation in all areas of my life. These are a few of the causes I serve so as you can see, just because you don't wear fatigues, doesn't mean that you're not on duty.
Soldier on: to persist steadfastly in one's work or pursuit; persevere
As we carry out these daily activities of education, provision, protection and the list goes on, we "Soldier On." We stay on task; we persist, persevere and at times we even struggle. That is what soldiers do. We may not win every battle but by staying committed and pressing forward and deciding that success will be the only option, we keep our eyes on the prize and we "Soldier On." That prize brings us to our "Fortune."
Fortune: success, victory, prosperity...destiny
When I say fortune I do not mean in the monetary sense. Of course one of our pursuits may be a certain lifestyle or financial position but fortune should be greater than the acquisition of wealth. It should be the position you are in, victory in your home, in the office, in what you are able to contribute to the lives of others and doors you are able to open that would otherwise be shut. Ultimately it is positioning yourself to live the life you were meant to live and affecting change around you and even in the world. It takes more than money to do that. Money is great to have but the focus here is not on the money but where your position in life allows you to give as well as receive. This is about the things in life that money cannot buy. For me it is my family, my business, the causes I serve, my goals and most importantly my spirituality. If I could sum it all up I would say that "Fortune" is "Being empowered to achieve your vision and live a life without limitations."

Web 2.0 and Earning Internet Income
When someone refers to Web 2.0, they are actually referring to Social Marketing. I will explain how this term relates to earning Internet income shortly. I want to identify usages for these two terms first. I will then give a brief definition of the two. I have listed some of the variations below.

Web 2.0 and Social Marketing is a massively expanding trend among Internet Marketers today
Let us continue by defining these two terms. Web 2.0 as defined by Wikipedia is, “Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users.” (Wikipedia, 2008) From this definition, we can understand that Web 2.0 refers to enhancing user’s ability to create and exchange information online. To put it plainly we might say that Web 2.0 is the version of the web that allows more interaction by the user. This is a goldmine to those earning internet income. In previous years, there was limited interaction with the Internet. You connected to the Internet and performed certain and specific actions. Now with Web 2.0 (also known as the next generation of web access) users can interact in real time with web applications and various media. They can create and manipulate online applications to fit their specifications. Web 2.0 is the new generation of web interaction.
Now let’s discuss Earning Internet Income with Social Marketing and see where the connection is. Social Marketing was a concept that originally focused on using Commercial Marketing ideas to influence social climates and behaviors. Social Marketing is defined by the Social Marketing Institute as, “the planning and implementation of programs designed to bring about social change using concepts from commercial marketing.” (SMI, 2008) This at times involved monetary exchanges but the general idea was to influence social behavior or to approach a community with certain social tactics. For today’s purposes earning on the Internet and Internet Marketing, a slightly different definition is what we are dealing with. Social Marketing in this new respect deals with actual socialization online.
The concept or idea is that by being involved in social networks and getting to know and network with others, your product or service gets exposure. In these scenarios, socialization comes before monetization and you generate income from those who find an attraction to what it is you offer. This is where variant terms like Passive Marketing and Attraction Marketing get their name. If we keep in mind, that Web 2.0 is the enhanced ability to communicate and exchange interaction in real time via the Web, and that Social Marketing is gaining exposure by socializing online then we can see the connection. People have been attracted by the masses to the potential of utilizing the web to earn internet income.
Social Marketing is about socializing online and as a result gains exposure. Web 2.0 offers us more enhanced, interactive ways to socialize online, and marketers will most likely not use one without the other. In fact, it would be hard to find a program used in social marketing that does not offer some form of interaction that falls into the Web 2.0 category. The saying that “people love to buy and hate to be sold” is very common. Many marketers today use this form of marketing because it is less intrusive. Marketers can focus more on establishing connections with people and less on trying to sell people.
As I stated before, the access created by the Internet also creates openings for security breaches and Social Marketing and Web 2.0 are not exempt. These two concepts are also responsible for huge increases in spam, viruses, malicious activity and spyware. It just goes to show you that no matter how much the world of computers and technology opens up to us, we have to become fluent and that starts with understanding the foundations. At the very least, keeping up to date with the basics in computers and computing technology should be something we all strive to do.

Lie #2 - This Really Isn't Sales. We Just Share Products With People If You "Share" Something With Somebody and Get Paid, Guess What...It's a Sale!
This is another big one that misleads many people. They join a business or Network Marketing company and are led to believe that all they have to do is "share" stuff with people. They get in under this idea and soon realize that it's not so easy to "share" with friends and family as it was laid out in thier weekly meeting. The thing is, is that if you share something for example a movie with your friend, this situation becomes transformed when you throw in the fact that you will monetize from it. It has transformed into a sale whether you wanted it to or not. The way the other person recieves it is differant and even your posture in delivering it is now differant because you know too that you will be monetizing. This is true especially of those who have never been in sales and don't want to be in sales but join a business because they can "share" instead. No matter how the cookie crumbles, you're in sales! Now there are ways to not be a "Sales Person" and to be professional in providing value without beating doors down and shoving pills down throats...or whatever it is your providing. Lie #3 - Anyone can do this Have You Ever Riden a Bike That Didn't Have Wheels?
Of course you have'nt and if you've ever tried than you may have more serious iussues than learning more effective marketing techniques. All kidding aside, the point Im making is that riding a bike without wheels isn't possible and isn't sane...no one can do it effectively. Why would someone try to ride the vehicle if they don't have the wheels on it. To run the vehicle of a business you need to have the wheels. Can people that dont have the wheels, get the wheels...? No doubt! The thing is, is that many companies make it seem as if there is essentially nothing involved with creating massive wealth and presence other than gliding right into a life of financial freedom and the American dream by following thier "proven system." If the system is so proven then why do only 3% of Network Marketers live that dream? It's because people get into the business and after the emotional and inspirational rally dies down they realize that while it may be "proven" it may actually take some work, personal development and the possibilty of having to learn something more than the "sharing" they were told about. This is just one example but there are many reasons that people might not be ready to join a business including personal ones and Ann gets to the point in the 7 Great Lies. Bottom line...most people get hyped up and they are ready to roll this new "vehicle" until the wheels fall off, but they have'nt seen the fine print..."wheels not included"
Lie #4 - We'll build your business for you Would You Do The Work For Someone Else To Get Paid? No. Why Would Someone Do It For You Then?
You may be noticing something about these 7 Great Lies by now...they all have a flip side that is true. We have seen the businesses that say "they" or the system will build it for you. I will be brave enough to say that there is no such thing as this type of business. Even the ones you see that say the business is on, "autopilot" don't start off on autopilot. Let me be clear about something. There are businesses that are designed to be self sustaining or designed for exponential growth, I participate in a couple of those myself. If you find the right ones they can be a goldmine but even those will take some initial work to grow and even maintain once it is growing on it's own. The bottom line is that any business takes some amount of work to build. Theres no such thing as a true "Set and Forget." The other thing about this lie you have to ask your self is that if someone would do all the work to make you filthy rich, why would'nt they just do it for themselves and keep the money? Ann gets to the bottom of this and why many network marketers fail because of the emotional play on, "we build your business for you." Lie #5 - We have the best product ever
How Did We Both End Up Selling The Best Product? Easy, Because EVERYBODY HAS THE BEST PRODUCT! I'm going to tell you right away this is true and false like everything else but many companies, in fact almost all will claim to have the best product. A product may actually be statistically or scientifically proven to be the best product in it's field but be failing because people don't want it. Why is that? It is because to them, the best product in thier mind is the one that has been effectively marketed to them.
A product or service may claim to be or actually be the best but what it comes down to is effective marketing of that product. We know the classic example of the Mickey D's hamburger. One of the worst hamburgers ever made in my opinion but without me using the whole name of the restaruant you already know eaxactly what I mean by Mickey D's. McDonalds hamburgers have effectively marketed their product and have gained loyal followers all over the world. I would rather use Lucilles BBQ & Baked Beans as an example...they dont have in my opinion the best BBQ and baked beans out there and If you don't agree come to my house when Im grillin' and Ill make you a believer! With that being said it's not about the best product it's about marketing effectively and using all of the foundations you learn about in the "7 Great Lies of Network Marketing" effectively. Lie #6 - You Just Don't Have Enough Belief I Read Somewhere That Faith The Size of a Mustard Seed Can Move Any Mountain!
Im a spiritual man and as a man of faith I have been known to move and operate when I carry myself as if there is no such thing as failure in whatever I set out to do. To me this is amazing belief. I do believe and have believed in the past that way deep down in my spirit and soul, I was made to succeed and that whatever I do will prosper. I have applied this to my life and business over the years but my businesses continued to fail or would have minimal success. Not the breakthroughs I had expected. Now Im not here preaching spirituality, this is my personal example and to each thier own beliefs are applied. What I am saying is that I have had strong belief and most people will have their strong belief but that belief must lead people to learn effective techniques of innovaion and growth always. The main issues here is that the old systems and ways of marketing are still being taught and people are convinced by their uplines that the problem is themselves. The truth of the matter is that the problem is usually not in what they are being led to do but in how they are led to do it because their leadership was taught that way. Many people start out needing guidance and leadership while having strong belief that can move mountains and they are hindered and falsly accused of lacking belief all because of the outdated system. Lie #7 - The Proven System
The Proof is in The Pudding...How Does 3% Success Rate Pudding Taste to You?
The average success rate of those that join a Network Marketing Company is 3%. That's 3% living the dream that is pitched every week at the meetings, which leaves what...? That's right 97% that do okay or let's just say 97% that can't quit their day job. So let me ask you whats proven? Yeah there is a proven system for success, at least 3% worth. That same proven system is responsible for 97% failure, 97% of people who spend countless hours recruiting and getting a few here and there for the company and 97% sending in millions of dollars collectively for CDs, Magazines and Promotional Items. Most of these companies will say not to waste your time trying new innovative things (like effective internet marketing) but to follow the "proven system" first and "try" innovation later. There are even those that are internet based that implement the same old system but just online, which also lacks effectiveness. It is about innovation and elevation. A new model of marketing is taking the place of the old methods that used to be effective. Im not saying to stop what you are doing on or offline but today it is about access and taking what we have learned from the past and letting it evolve and bring us into the future. One thing that must be realized is that everyone is differant and not everyone can take what makes one person successful and use it for themselves.
